    You could see shiny blackberries that hang from the dense roadside bushes.     In the evenings you might just find the front room of the Helm Brasseur gourmande. This is a gastropub which brew six different varieties of its own beer in the back. this place is full of young people who are trying to converse over  loud soundtrack.  Helms name is an acronym for the different ingredients  that are used of beer, houblons, water, yeast and malt. The menu offers tapas size pub food with an emphasis on the local ingredients.  You should try out the wild boars shepherd pie. The varnished wood design here is slicker than all the homespun furniture that you could find anywhere else in the whole miles end.     Did you know that footpaths could change the way an entire neighborhood looks?  In fact about seven years ago, the government here in the city started widening the sidewalks and they installed new benches and planters over the Bernard Street which is west of the Boulevard St.Laurent. This place has been lined up with musty convenience stores. In fact in the local language it is called depanneurs.  This place has greasy spoons and vacant storefronts.  The entire neighborhood which surrounds this place is a at a mile end and has become a good spot to witness local music with the many local bands that this place has given rise to.
